The Hague Shopping and The Hague Shopping Districts

The past two decades have seen a huge change in the shopping opportunities provided in The Hague. Many new shopping arcades and stores have been built around Den Haag's city centre, where visitors can purchase an array of Dutch souvenirs to remember their trip to the Netherlands.

Although countless gift shops in The Hague present a range of souvenirs, such as wooden shoes, porcelain windmills and Delft blue ceramics, there is also plenty of opportunity for clothes shopping, at fashion outlets including the Maison de Bonneterie on Gravenstraat.

One of the most established department stores in The Hague is the De Bijenkorf, which is located on the Wagenstraat, close to the Grote Marktstraat, and its alternative V&D department store.

Notable shopping districts in The Hague are based around the city centre and include De Passage, a popular gallery dating back to the early 1880s and recently renovated.

De Passage is easy to find and this shopping arcade has several entrances, on streets such as the Hofweg and the Spuistraat, while close to the beachfront in the resort of Scheveningen, the Palace Promenade Shopping Centre is well placed for tourists.

For antiques shops and speciality stores in The Hague, the Denneweg area is hard to beat and is close to Lange Voorhout. A similar collection of shops are to be found along the Molenstraat, on the Prinsestraat, around the Noordeinde, and on the pedestrianised Spuistraat.
